Dearest Friends,

I am Akwasi Konadu, and I grew up in the Agape Children’s Home. With a hear

t full of gratitude, I’m eager to share my story, reflecting on the incredible journey I’ve been privileged to experience thanks to your unwavering support.

I was born in Asamang, a small town in the Asante region here in Ghana. My life was marked by both beauty and challenges. Tragically, I lost both parents at just four years old, leaving a significant void. My grandmother, a tireless farmer, struggled to provide for me. Despite her efforts, it became clear I needed more support.

That’s when God intervened through Pastor Rick and Donna Whitcomb, who became my mom and dad. Their love and care transformed my world, providing the stability and nurturing I desperately needed.

Growing up at Agape Children Home was pivotal. The home provided necessities like clothing and shelter but also became a haven where I thrived. Most importantly, it was here that I discovered my faith in Jesus Christ. Accepting Him as my Lord and personal Savior was a turning point in my life, rekindling hope and purpose in me. The values and teachings I received at Agape Children’s Home shaped my character and guided me through my formative years.

I completed my high school education at Agape Academy International in 2020, which laid a strong foundation for my future aspirations. I am proud to share that I recently graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering. This achievement isn’t just mine; it’s a testament to your love and support, and of those who have believed in me.

As in many countries, Ghana has a mandatory one-year national service for college graduates. I’m excited to share that I am using this year to serve at Agape House New Testament Church under Pastor Rick. This is a perfect opportunity for me to give back to the community that gave me so much, which is already a fulfilling experience!

As I reflect on my journey, I realize my success is a collective achievement, made possible by your generosity and kind sponsors like you. I urge you to consider extending your sponsorship to my brothers and sisters at Agape Children Home. They, too, deserve the opportunity to thrive, to dream, and to achieve their goals, just as I have been fortunate enough to do.

Thank you again for your generosity and belief in me. Your support has profoundly impacted my life, and I’m forever grateful.

I will not leave you as orphans. I will come to you. -John 14:18

Several children at the Agape Children’s Home are under-supported, such as the ones in the photo above, sitting with Akwasi. We are doing all we can to care for them, and we cannot fathom letting them down, so we urgently need more sponsors to help us maintain a good standard of care.

Right now, we need 201 additional $35/mo sponsorships to cover all the costs for our current children living in Agape Children’s Home.

More details about Agape Children’s Home:

At Agape Children’s Home, we provide loving, Christ-centered care to orphans and vulnerable children. Our residential and community programs offer quality education, nutritious meals, healthcare, and Christian spiritual encouragement, empowering these young leaders to shape Africa’s future!

Today, we’re making a difference in the lives of 60 amazing kids. However, the need is vast. Thousands of children, some as young as three, are struggling to survive on their own due to poverty. Many face abuse, neglect, and denial of basic care.

Your support will help us expand our care programs, rescue more children from poverty and exploitation, and bring hope and transformation to Africa’s most vulnerable. By partnering with us, you’ll give these precious children a chance to thrive.

Please join us in giving these children a chance to overcome adversity and reach their full potential. Your generosity will make a lasting impact.
